Redeeming Love

I finally finished reading Redeeming Love this afternoon. What a book!

I was wondering why a few of you were saying things like, "needing a box of tissues as you read" and reading the last page and closing the book and crying your eyes out. I was thinking, "okay there are some really sad things that have happened in this book, but crying over it??? Come on girls."

Okay, it finally got to me too. Once Elizabeth went into labor and needed Angel's help delivering the baby, I was a goner. From that point on everything effected me.
~The last night Angel had planned with Michael before she left again.
~ Jonathan Axel rescuing Angel, Cherry and Faith from the brothel/bar.
~ Paul coming to bring Angel home.
~ Ahhhh....the reunion of Angel and Michael.
~ Angel finally telling Michael her real name, Sarah. (Mom, D,D,D, and D I am laughing because I am imagining all of us saying " Saraah, Saraaaaahhh" like the father in The Little Princess.)
~The comparison Micheal gave to his barren Sarah, to the barren Sarah in the Bible who God did eventually give a son to.
~The surprise blessing of so many children that Sarah actually did bare.
~Michael and Sarah's death.
~Sarah's epitaph.

I just had one thing that struck me as odd. Why didn't Michael get more upset at Paul for taking advantage of Angel in Paul's agreeing for her to "pay" him for her ride back to town? In my opinion that was totally Paul's fault and it made him look "dirtier" than Angel. Any thoughts....

Okay, I'm going to have to reread that one. I don't even recognize half the names of the people! I read it a couple of years ago, but my memory is failing me...

I LOVE Shirley Temple and I remember vividly the scene at the end of the movie where the father is calling to her. How funny!!!

Thanks Denise...guess I won't have to read it now...way to ruin it for me.

Ouch! Ooooh Jennifer, I am sorry. Hey it is still a good book! You can still read it! There are plenty of things I left out.

I am so going to read this book. I'm glad you liked it!

I read it about 6 years ago so now I'm with Julie. I'm scratching my head at some of the names and storylines. I don't remember crying in the movie. It takes a lot to get me to cry in a book. I may have to borrow this book from mom, too. I'm glad you enjoyed a good read...and hey! You did it in less than a week. You are a BOOK WORM!

I didn't know this was a movie too. I'm with Julie and Donna...it's been a while since I've read this so I'm going to have to do a refresher. I do remember it being very emotional and a good cry! Sarah! Sarah! But I'm Sarah! I'm Sarah!

I just got one of Francine's books from the library today that I had to put on request and it came in! I have the one you just completed on request too, but the wait is a wee bit longer. I also just got The Book Thief which I understand is a good read!

I know Jennifer. I am sorry though. I didn't realize I was giving away price pieces of the book until I read your comment. Funny! I was trying to tantalize you, oooooohhhh! (Am I saying that right? Tantalize??? You know dangle the book in front of your eyes.)

I did not read this post because I didn't want to know anything that happens. This book was recommended to me about 5 years ago and I have never read it. I can't wait though! Are you going to camp? Heather said you were, but your earlier post didn't sound like you are. Did you return to your sanity and decide not to go? Derek said the accomodations are like a missions trip. I just don't want sweet Margaux Jeanne in that filth. Maybe I shouldn't have said that, in case you are going! See you in a couple hours!

Hey Angela--I think I am going to camp either on Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning. I am waiting for Danny to tell me how the room looks as far a bugs. I need to plan how Margaux will sleep. I just don't want her in her Pac-n-play on the floor, if you know what I mean. IF I go, I will have that room big time cleaned up. I may even bring my vacuum too, as well as bleach cleaner. I was even thinking of bringing a few rugs too. (that sounds weird)

As for now, 2 children to take care of is breeeeeezzzzzeeee! Me lovin it!

Yes, read the book. You will love it!

This book isn't a movie. I think Donna was confused. I can't remember all the details you were talking about either. I don't remember crying my eyes out but I do remember tearing up during certain parts of the book. I love that the sweet, tender man in the book is named MICHAEL Hosea.
I'm glad you liked it Denise. I need to read this one again.

I think she is confused too. There is a movie from a FR book--The Last Sin Eater I think. It has had mixed reviews. I may get it tomorrow at Block Buster.

But, RL would be a great movie. It may be hard to keep it G rated with all the prostitute and marital sex stuff, but good nontheless.
