Indiana

This past week we had one last hoorah to end our summer with.  We traveled to Indianapolis, along with my parents and my sister Dolly, Leland, and Michael, for the Indiana State Fair, and then to Vincennes, Indiana for my cousin Joel's wedding.

The Indiana State Fair is childhood memory for my father and he loves to go revisit it each year.

This fair is unreal! It's like a farm, a trip back to Little House On the Prairie, a BIG TIME bake sale, a truck/tractor show, concerts, and all sorts of animal competitions!  And, with all that said I know I am leaving out something.  Thank you Daddy for such a fun trip!  You were an INCREDIBLE tour guide!

Okay lets talk FOOD!!!  There are SO many food choices there.

Let's just say if you are on a diet--STAY AWAY.  Just let me give some personal TMI as to what I, ME, Denise, ate at the fair:

Steak Sandwich
Corn on the Cob
Ice Cream--Yuuuum!
Bag of Old Fashion Caramel Corn
BBQ Sandwich
FRIED Cookie Dough (1/2 a scoop)
FRIED Oreo (only 1)
Caramel Apple
Funnel Cake

...and you readers should know that there were 5 other adults in our group who ate as much as I did...
...the food was just too good to pass up.

Below are some pictures from the fair--there are a lot--sorry!

My father with the children, walking down the horse barn.
 (Watch were you step!!!)
 Watching a lamb get sheered.

 Getting ready to enter the
"Jeep Rocks & Road Tour."

The little ones got to drive Jeeps...
...so did the big ones. This is Danny
driving a Rubicon on the
very cool all terrain course!

Next it was onto my cousin's wedding.
My mother's father proudly calls himself the Progenitor of the family.  It is sometimes funny to hear him say this--but actually, it is very true--with the help of my sweet, late grandmother of course.  My mother's parents had 6 children and from those six children are 19 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren, with 2 more great grand's on the way--yikes! Hope I didn't miss anyone!
Here are a few of my cousins with their spouses and of course the bride and groom, Joel and Jenna!
Lastly, a few picture of the Reber Progenitors, my sweet parents!  Time will tell how much they totally progenorate!

I bet Danny was in heaven driving that jeep on that course. That's right up his alley:)

The wedding looked fun! I know it was fun to see everyone again. LOL at the PROGENITOR:)

It looks like you guys had a great time! All of that "fair food" sounds delicious!!! I'll eat cookie dough and Oreo's no matter how they're served up. :)

You have one pretty family, Mrs. Logan! I can't believe how big Jane is!!!

Denise, how in the WORLD did you remember how many grandchildren and great grandchildren grandma and papa has? You're good girl! I didn't even know that. Your post made me laugh. Def more humorous then mine. It was a fun time and if you're going to the Indiana state fair, daddy is by far the best tour guide.

Oh, and I love that Julie Day commented. Us Reber girls are our biggest fans! haha! We gotta stick together.

Hey there, so I don't know if you got my last message (about not having your email address...) but I just wanted to say to you Rebers who were at the wedding that I really wish I would have known you all were going to be there! I could have made it happen to be there...if only. I am so sad to have missed you but am very glad (and a touch jealous) that you had such a fabulous time at the state fair. I don't think we have ever been, but even the local Lake County fair takes me back. I loved going to it with my mema and pepa. Great memories you are making with the kiddos!

Hey Shelly, I thought I emailed you my email address. Anyway, incase you didn't get it is is dandeniselogan@aol.com.

We did have fun getting to see everyone, but I seriously know how hard it is traveling with many kiddos!

We will just get together next time. I bet our children would have fun playing together!

Great post! You have been busy this summer. I'm glad you got to get away and have some fun with your extended famly. Now, you need to come to Texas this fall since Texas has the largest state fair in the world and it is in Big D. Did you see the special on Oprah? I have extra room....you could stay with me.
