Okay folks, (that was for you Dolly and Donna), please give me some good, strong boy names. My Love and I cannot agree on one and time is getting close.
Names I like but he does not for some reason or another are: William, George, Charles and my favorite name, Benjamin. So if you got a moment, send a baby boy name my way, just in case our sweet baby is a boy!

These names are out there, and not common like the ones you like, but I love the names Asher and Micah! Good Luck!
Hi! I'm a lurker~been reading your site for a few months, found you through a friend of a friend. Anyway, I love the name Benjamin! But here are some others, Ethan, Wesley, Robert, Thomas, and Nathaniel. Those are names we would have used if we'd had another boy.
Out of those names I like Benjamin just because of the meaning of it. Doesn't it mean God's gift or something? This baby is definetly a gift from God.
I agree with Dayna- I like Benjamin.
I'm voting for Benjamin all the way. I've always loved that name and the meaning is perfectly fitting for your situation. Tell Danny that since you have to go through the birthing experience all over again that you win this one. You deserve it!
By the way, Michael only woke up at 2:00 and then again a 5:00 and slept until 10:00!!!!! I'm so happy and feel SO MUCH BETTER. My boy is getting food!!!
Benjamin is my vote as well. It sounds strong and sweet at the same time :)
Clap clap clap! Thanks girls! You all gave me some good names.
I do love Benjamin but Danny is not crazy about it. I love the meaning too Dayna. And I agree Dolly, I am doing the work, I should get to name it.
My next favorite is Wesley--thanks momma, and welcome to my blog.
Also, Dolly, great about Michael sleeping so well! You're a good mommy!
I loved the name Everett. Maybe call him Rett for short. I loved that name when I was pregnant all three times. I also liked Finley, call him Finn, kind of different but I liked it. I love Benajamin and I have always loved William and instead of shortening to Will, shorten to Liam
Nathan means gift from God too. Of course, I love that name. :)
I have cousins named Benjamin and Ethan and they are m-i-s-c-h-i-e-f but I'm sure your Benny would give me a new connotation. I said Benny b/c I bet that's what your fam will end up calling him (in line w/ Maddie and Harry). :)
I'm with Dolly, you push 5 outta the clown car and you are entitled, sugar boog!
Denise, I LOVE the name Benjamin!!!
I realize Benjamin is not on the table because Dan doesn't like it, but I also love it! Don't we bloggers out way Dan's opinion? I do like Wesley, too. I wanted to name Tyler Nicholas because he was born in December, but Derek didn't like that. I like Jonas, I'm reading Beverly Lewis's The Covenant series right now and he's a character. I'll keep thinking!
P.S. Derek said you loved the cigs! Ha Ha!
I know it is Donna's last name, but my friend had a boy maned Graham..and he is a sweetie pie. Benjamin is a great name! My friend has nephews ONLY and their names are:
Barrett
Cole (love this name!)
Chase
Hayden and Grey
Kinda different, but cute!
What is the girl name list looking like?
Here are the names of the girls I know: (Redding is so ecclectic!!)
Kennedy
Bentley
Ruby Jane
Isabelle (all these are names of girls I know at church!
Good Luck with the search! No matter what you name your baby, he or she will be cherished, and that it all that matters!
Denise, my boys names for consideration:
Luke
Evan
Simeon
Simon
Andrew
Nathan
Noah
Joshua
Lance
Ian
Aidan
And my sons names :)
Liam and Aaron
I didn't realize I would have so many!
Tonya, I love your names. You pick good ones and I love your girls names too! You need to try for a little Rett! Too cute!
Tonya, when I hear the name Everett, I think of Mrs. Foutz. Isn't that her husband's name?!
Denise, I like Benjamin. Here are some other top picks from me and Roy:
Sigward
Cletus
Ralph
Barack
Just kidding:) Seriously, I'm all for Ben. I also like George and Andrew. I love the name Ned, too.
Barack Logan . . . that's funny!
Donna you are funny!
I love Rhett. That is totally a Georgian name.
My sweet love has lots of new names to consider. THANKS girlies!
Donna, Seriously, how do you remember this stuff?? I think your right though, you crack me up!
Donna I think you are right and now when I hear the name, all I can hear is Mrs Foutz saying it
Dolly, we wont be trying for a tille Rhett, so Denise has my permission to steal it! Odds are we make girls anyway!
I just love Rhett, so Gone With The Wind!
My favorites (that didn't make our cuts for various reasons) are Seth (third son; annointed), Evan (one meaning is God has been gracious). Do what we did with Micah's name (a girl). We did NOT agree on her name. He wanted Chloe and I wanted Micah. After a failed attempt to compromise on a third name altogether (this was in the hospital AFTER she was born) we wrote Chloe on one piece of paper and Micah on another, folded them up and the nurse came in and picked one. Thankfully it was Micah (and no, Micah wan't written on both sheets!!!). Good luck with that. Believe me, I feel for you!!!
You girls are SO good. I love all these names.
Okay here is the name that Danny LOVES---are you ready????
MURPHY! He wants to be able to call the baby "Murph" for a nickname.
Sorry to any first namer's named Murphy--I do like that name, but it is one of those "family" names. Like--if my maiden name was Murphy, I would be all over using it for a first name. I know we have a son Harrison and that is also a last name, but Harrison it is also used alot as a first name. But Murphy, I just can't grasp that name for my baby boy.
When I hear the name Murphy, I think of a dog for some reason. Roy's uncle's dog is named that, so I guess that's why. I like Benjamin.
Sorry Danny...don't like Murphy at all.
Just my few cents:
Reed or Reid
Briggs
Jace
Aiden
Andrew
Niles
When I was a nanny, they had three boys and one girl. I thought all of the boys names were good strong names: Key Alexander (yes, Key is different but it was after a great grandfather.) Benjamin David, and Ethan Daniel.
Good luck!
Denise,
Oh yeah..just saw Momma's comment..I like Wesley. Im w/ DRG, Murphy reminds me of 2 things...green leprechaun AND a doggie.
Go here http://www.parentingweekly.com/pregnancy/topics/babyname_google2.htm
and see what you can come up with.
I'm late getting in on this one, but I will say that I agree with the Murphy comments. It reminds me of that cleaning stuff that I should be using more often to mop my floors. But, EVERY name reminds someone of something, know what I mean? So, just go with what you like and forget about what your husband likes. :)
Murph the Smurf...just sayin, you gotta think of that stuff for when they go to school. Take it from me...There was an aweful girl at my elementary school..her name was Diedre and she had a chant for MY NAME (which was my Norwegian great grandmother's name-uh, thanks Mom!) I will tell you the chant, even though it still hurts my heart a little , are you ready? "Inger stick your finger up your dinger" First of all, WHAT is a "dinger", and secondly, do I have one? I also got "Inger finger" a lot too. (and I haven't got a middle name..I was the ONLY child and my Mom wanted me to "represent" with my maiden name in the middle!!
Ben is a safe bet!
I submitted a comment but now that I have come back to your site, I realize it is not there. Anyhoo...
I love the different names such as Aiden, Holden, Cade, Grayson. etc. but the "normal" names that I like are Luke, Jude, Seth, Ethan, Paul, Micah.....etc. One thing to consider is that Benjamin will be shortened to Ben and he will be Ben Logan which sounds like Bin Lauden. Just a thought. It is a cute name though.
Now if you do name your baby Charles, George or Ned, I am going to have to come to FL and kidnap that baby and change that birth certificate. HA!
Benjamin is a precious name. I'm laughing OUT LOUD at the Cletus and Barack suggestions. TOO funny (wonder how many kids are getting the name Barack this year? Seriously? hmm..) Anyway, I love the Names: Seth, Mason, and Charles (call him Chas-my husband's name..hee). I'm sure everyone will think this goofy, but along the Charles theme, I LOVE the name Charlie. Sounds so friendly and happy. Like a farmer. Good luck!
Mitchell and I have always liked Caleb and Elijah (for short Eli). I am a big fan of Nathan too.
Yikes Inger, I am sorry about that little name calling you had going on in school. I was called Denise the Beast because I had/have longer hair on my arms. Kids can be so mean!
This is fun! Okay, I did not read all your comments so forgive me if I'm being redundant:
Garrett
Grant
Inger, I am laughing at your horrible teasing....please forgive me. I agree...what is a dinger and do you have one???
Denise, I didn't know you were a female Esau. I have never noticed that about you.
Kids can be horrible! I had the last name of Carr and was very glad when I changed my last name to Smalley.
Is Danny wanting to name the child after Jeff Murphy? Just curious!
well, i'm not sure we will ever have a boy and even if we do, what are the chances that our boys would run into each other. so, i will give you our boy name. it's a family name on my husband's side. we were going to name our youngest (if she had been a boy) William Henry and call him "Liam". so many people go with Will, but never Liam. There's my two cents. good luck! it's always so hard to agree on a name. i can only imagine what it's like when you've already agreed on four and have to come up with one more. :)
I have a Wesley...we call him Wes. There is one con to the name though... a lot of people pronounce it wezzzley. I hate that and so does he. If I would have had another boy there were a few names that I liked alot: Preston, Clayton or Ross. I have a 3 year old nephew named Benjamin and he gets called Benji alot...I don't care for that. My grandaughter is Dylann (pronounced like the boy name) and we call her Dilly...we didn't plan it, it just came out!
I was called Donna Ria---a funny take on Diarrhea.
I like Grant, too. Strong and Classy. I'm still saying Ben. Although, that Ben Logan/Bin Laudin thing does sound funny:) Sorry, Denise. It's stinks when you've already used your boy name. I don't knwo what we'll do if we have another boy. I'll be in the same boat.
oh my. Inger, that is horrible and I have a pretty good visual of what they took dinger to mean. But donna honey...do u think they were playin off diahrea all these years or could it ...just could it have been GONArhea which rhymes EVEN better? I prolly spelled it wrong but u know... The STD. Either way...kids r ruthless, I tell ya. Just ruthless!
Hello there Deni...It's me again, back to the living!!haha.
I love Benjamin...But just like one of the ladies there posted, THIS IS A GIFT FROM GOD...and you know that...MATTHEW means..."gift from God"...
How have you been feeling? how's the belly?
I saw that Dolly had her baby boy, I can't see her page or post there yet so, congratulate her from me!
Kisses to the kids and a hug to Dan the Man!!!
your Hotlanta longtime friend and neighbor...Allie.
I didn't know you were called Denise the Beast. So Sorry!
oh my word, hps! i was thinking the same thing. you know, about donna and the donna - ria. i just didn't want to be the one to bring it up. you are a much better person to do that. being as you are such good friends. wouldn't be such a good thing to hear coming from me (the stranger). glad to know i wasn't the only one thinking that.
Again--you girls are making me laugh! I have been gone all day. Who knew this would generate so many comments!!!!!
Kristi- no I am not the female Esau (you are funny)and Murphy is not after Jeff. Danny just likes the name.
But not to worry ladies--after all these comments I told him about, I think Murphy is out of the running.
I am still pulling for Benjamin and Kristi, my mom said the same thing you did about Bin Laden. Oh well....
By the way, someone asked what the girls name is. It will be Ashley Jane. I think we will call her Baby Jane!
i'm a little partial to Ashley, but don't tell anyone :)
Now for girl names, feel free to use my MIL's or my mom's names...you got your choice of either Thelma Faye or Sandra Sue.
Donna, should she focus more on boy names or girl names???? :)
Denise, Laughing at the Baby Jane. There is this crazy, wacky movie called "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane" with Joan Crawford it in. It's about a child star who loses fame and becomes crazy! If you have a girl, we are not calling her baby Jane!
Jenny girl, my lips are sealed!
Okay Donna, NOW I am laughing. I know about Whatever Happened to Baby Jane. I have seen that movie several times. I for sure, didn't think anyone would have know of that movie.
I still like the nick name Baby Jane. (I am laughing.) Poor baby Jane in the movie. Her sissie was NOT a nice girl!
By the way, it was the perfect role for Joan Crawford.
What is up with Joan Crawford and the psycho movies? Wasn't she in the one with the coat hangers too?
BTW so glad Murphy is out!
Yes Dayna---Mommy Dearest to be exact. And one of my favorite lines, "Wirrrrre Hannnnnngers!!!!"
Just catching up on these comments and Leland and I are LOL at the female Esau comment. Leland thinks you should name your baby (if it's a boy) Esau after your arms.
Here are some of my favorite "Mommie Dearest" quotes:
-CHRISTINA! BRING ME THE AX!
-NO WIRE HANGERS!
That is one crazy and scary movie. Whatever Happened to Baby Jane is up there with it, too.
If you have a girl, I like the nickname "Janie". I know what you're going to say, but I like it and I don't think of Janie D.
Oh, and another creepy part in the movie is when "JOan" gets her baby girl and she holds it up in the air and says:
"I will call you.....Christina (she whispers it really slowly). Christina Crawford."
Donna, how can you remember all those quotes?
Oh my goodness, this is some funny stuff! Inger, I feel your pain! My initials were JA and the mean boys in my 5th grade class used to call me that and then whisper JackAss!!
Jennifer, too funny!
It was on tv the other day and I watched it and cringed the whole time.
Denise,
This is Jeff Murphy's sister, Jeni. I've been reading your blog since Christy told me you were pregnant again! I have such a GREAT time reading your blog! It makes my day!
I had a big laugh when I saw Danny liked the name Murphy. I was getting ready to jokingly suggest the name Jeff and then I read the comment about naming the baby after Jeff Murphy. What a scream!
My Dad says to tell you he'd be honored and twist-legged if you name that baby Murphy after the senior Murphy:)
My personal favorite boy names are Jacob, Drew (goes with the D's), Chase and Mason.
Can't wait to hear what you decide on!
Jeni! What a surprise! That is nice of you to keep up with this crazy life of ours on my blog.
Please tell Jeff all the Murphy's we said hello! Danny will get a kick out of you reading all this talk about a baby boy name. He REALLY likes Murphy as a name. Please understand, I like it too but I just don't see if for my baby boy. Like I said earlier, if my maiden name was Murphy, I would use it for a first name in a heart beat.
I like the names you suggested too. Actually, I did suggest Drew to Danny--Andrew and Drew as a nickname, but he didn't like it.
Why is picking a baby name so hard?????
give yourself a break, denise. with four children, you have essentially agreed on 8 names already. i say, "way to go, you guys."
I love my brothers' names. I'm into the classics.
Dolly's taken one of them, but there's still:
Robert
Matthew
Kevin
I do like the name Matthew. It is very classic and strong.
Benjamin is a good name... My brother's name is Eben which is unusual...and I also like Mitchell. Good luck, this is tough stuff!!
Benjamin! Jaden's middle name. It was a struggle to choose btwn the two for a first. As a matter of fact, in my mind that was his first name up until we were abou to leave the hospital. Good strong biblical name. Meaning suits the situation.
For a girl, those southern names you so creatively come up with aren't my strong suit, but I absolutley love the name Addison.
And I'm back in blog land!
