It's Monday and school was again delayed a couple hours due to snow and ice on the roads. Plus it is cold--18 degrees when I got in the truck this morning. All in all, I still love it and it's all good.
So here are my thoughts this morning as I was driving home from my children's school.
1. Man O' Man: LOVED taking my children to school! I rarely get to do this. Danny works just a few buildings away from their school so it just works for him to take them to school.
Maybe I loved it today because school was delayed and I was actually functionally awake, dressed, and drinking my home made SCM on the way to school. Also, the scenery as so pretty--the snow/ice on the trees just glistened in the morning sun! It looked like little glass beads or bulbs on the branches! BEAUTIFUL!!!
2. Pride: Okay, hold on folks, please understand what I am about to say. I know that every employment, school, church, business, etc. has its little idiosyncrasies, and sometimes ministries tend to have more (or maybe its because we fellow Christians judge our own fellow ministries more).
BUT, putting all that aside, I love driving on the property of TRBC/LCA/LU (btw, click on LU for a cool picture of our Snow Flex) and knowing that we are a part of it. We prayed for so long to be here and raise our children in this ministry. I am so proud of my professor husband for teaching here and WHAT AN INCREDIBLE teacher he is! And my children! Those sweet things drive me nuts, but I love them so much and was so proud to see them walking up the snowy sidewalks together into school!
3. Potty: finally seeing a dim light at the end of the potty training tunnel! Margaux is starting to tell me she has to go tinkle!!!!! Thank you Jesus!
4. Prayer: Lord give me my daily bread! This is a crazy busy week for me. Maddie has a project and a research paper due this week. Cupcakes for 100th day of school party, re-enrollment--VALENTINES WEEK! And, we have a special 12 year old birthday this week, with a big ole party Friday night. I know it sounds minuscule, but a lot for a momma to accomplish!
5. House: I have got to get home and clean that house. We have basically been on another "Christmas Break" the past week or two. With all of us home 24/7 this house is a wreck!
6. And last but not least, Date Night: Looking forward to this. Where we gonna go? Waterstone???
Aww Man! Alright! I am going...banished to the laundry room...

I just love your thoughts...and I just love your picture, it is so so darling. It snowed here and it was a total surprise! They didn.t even predict it. crazy southern town I live in. We are home and I was not prepared. at least we have milk!
I like your thoughts too Denise! Love your positive outlook on where you have your kids and life and all the Lord has blessed you with! I know you have a busy week so put me to work. I'm excited about the big party on Friday!!!! You only turn 12 once!
Why is it that when I read about Lynchburg and LU I want to move up there? Seriously, you guys make it sound so wonderful. Actually, I think it's because it sounds so similar to my great town, Greenville.
You know, I like taking Max to school too. Why is that? Maybe we feel like a "real" mom going through car line with our coffee in hand. I don't know, but I do love watching him walk into school with his backpack.
I got the shivers thinking about doing a report/term paper. Now, surely those things are a lot easier now with the internet and computers, right? Any little known facts about Jackie O you want to share?
Please tell me you don't have to make 100 cupcakes?! Max had his 100th day today. BTW, we never did that growing up at our school. I don't understand the significance of that...do you?
YAY for Margaux!
Valentine's party week...'nuf said! We've been decorating shoe boxes and doing valentines. And, everything they eat at school for some reason has to be PINK and RED!
I love your thoughts Denise, keep 'em coming!
