So, this being said, it really has nothing to do with the thought I get when I hear My Love use this when he is referring to someones personal style, "charm", or look. I can see Danny BEAMING from ear to ear when he reads this---Grrr!
Sixty four percent of us think Austin Powers and I am guessing, all that goes along with him, if you know what I mean. The fact is, I don't like when Danny says the word "mojo." It drives me nuts and I get a little embarrassed.
Okay, now the "freaking poll." I lost this poll BIG TIME! Again, Danny is BEAMING I am sure. He hates when I say this word. I am too embarrassed to type what the word "freaking" is defined as. Go here to read it for yourself.
Basically I did not know!
How was I to know that if you add an "-ing" to the word "freak" it is bad????? They didn't teach me that in grammar class. I always thought that adding "-ing" meant you were doing something at that moment or had done something. i.e. I am going shopping! Or i.e. I was freaking out when saw that I was losing this poll.
So, a word to the wise. Know what you are saying. And, I, for one will no longer be saying the word "freak" with "-ing" added to the end. I am sure My Love is thrilled!
I am adding another poll to my side bar today. It is a serious one. A thought provoking one. NOT a poll to offend anyone, but one to make you think or discuss, as Danny and I did this week. Take a moment to vote. Again, there is no way for me to know who votes and what you vote for.

YIKES!!! I didn't realize that was the def of the work freakin either. I knew it sounded like that word but if I ever said it, I knew I didn't intend to use that word. I won't be saying it anymore either. Now for Mojo! Danny DOES use that word a lot! I think at Christmas time I heard him say it at least 15 times! hahaahah
BTW, I'm laughing so hard at your twitter about Margaux! That's funny!
Whoa....I was right and didn't even know it!! So glad you made the meaning of that word clear to everyone. It's just not a nice sounding word to me, and I've never liked it.
Now, on the new poll. I'm here in Greenville right now with my best friend, watching her die slowly of cancer, and seeing the agony she's in while trying to catch her breath. What a sad, sad situation for her, and for the people who love her. Watching someone die a painful death has to be far more horrible than watching someone die of Alzheimers....I would think, anyway. I don't know much about the ins and outs of alzheimers, except for the fact that they just can't remember anything. They don't seem to be in pain (as far as I know), and the only really bad thing would be in realizing that they don't remember you. I could probably handle that a whole lot more because I'd know that they don't mean to "not remember" or be angry and mean, etc. It's something they can't help. So, in saying that, I'd rather be caretaker to an alzheimer's patient if I had to pick one.
What? I don't agree with that definition. First off, I don't say "freaking". I say "that freaked me out" or I'm so freakin' hungry. And again, I don't say it a lot. I would never think someone was saying the "f" word if I heard someone used Freaking.
Yes, I heard Danny say "mojo" alot during Christmas and it was kind of funny.
I'm off to read the next poll and find out what Margaux did on your twitter. Wait until you read my next twitter. GROSS.
Denise, yeah!!!! I despise that work freak and any form of it. I really had no idea what it meant, but now I know why I never liked it. I don't blame you for being embarassed about mojo because anything concerning Austin Powers is a little weird! Great polls!
I love this post - it made me laugh.
Why don'y you say "flippin'" and then if anyone accuses you of cussing you can just say that it reminds you of flippin' pancakes?!
At the end of the little laughs though I read your mom's comment and my heart is just so heavy for her as she watches her friend suffer. She is in my prayers.
Oh goodness, now what word will I use??? Someone said flippin but that sounds more like the "F" word than freakin - to me that is. Sometimes you just need an extra adjective to emphasize things. For instance in Donna's situation when she's starving...as in "freakin' hungry." What would you suggest she say? I'm hungry may not emphasize the fact that she hasn't eaten in 6 hours and is REALLY needing a cheeseburger.
I'm LOLin that Danny uses mojo - do your kids get embarrassed when he says it? You know, like when an old person tries to be cool. Just kidding Danny! :)
Jenius - we're having some friends over for pizza tonight...you're welcome to join us if you need to get away for a few hours. :) I'm so sorry your friend is having such a difficult time - I'll be praying.
You girls are funny! I am laughing!
Jennifer I agree! I need to find a word to re-emphasize my old word!
Oh my! I had no idea that Freaking was so bad. I might want to be more careful with how I use it in the future. I am laughing that you didnt put it on your blog, but put the link. Funny!
I'm playing some catch up... first, had NO idea that word meant that, and now will be teaching all my 9th graders at church! Second, your poll is very interesting... Unfortunately, Alzheimers runs in my family (every other generation) and I'm next, but I tell my hubby to take care of me till its too much and then put me in a home (with my cousin, who is up to get it too)...still think they are easier to take care of... but will outlive you. Btw, your kiddos are adorable and hope my Winnie is as cute as your Margaux when she is 2 ;-)
Boy, the "F" words are just flying in this comment section. Thank you Denise for letting us in on this. Preston has started saying that this year and I hate it. I was able to give him "documentation" as to why his mother was right.
Donna, just say, "I'm so d___n hungry". That would get your point across and you wouldn't be using the "F" word. LOL!
MOJO? What in the world? Is Danny trying to be hip Ed
Young-ish and be culturally relevant?
Kristi! You're so funny. I am happy to say that I am not a cuss-er. I never cuss and honestly those words never come to my mind when I get mad! I owe that to Mom who made us think that words like "gosh" and "gee" and "darn" were cuss words! The worst word I can say is "Freakin" apparently:)
Denise, I'm liking this weekly poll thing. It's a hit, I think!!
