Breaking news!

Okay, so I'm thinking to myself, hmm, how do I start this post?

I hate trying to figure out the best way to tell breaking news in "My Life in Southwest Florida."

You know, its like you need to make this big announcement while at the same time you hold your breath hoping it is received well .

So, I'm thinking I'll go the "world series route."
Yikes, is this a good idea???? I mean Danny, a.k.a. My Love, loves baseball. Okay, here it goes...
(Said in a sports commentator's voice.)"Dan Logan, now that you've resigned from your job here in SWFL, what's the first thing you're gonna do?"

(Said in a crazed sports fan's...or wife's voice.)
"WE'RE MOVING TO VIRGINIA!"

Ahhh, it's out! Finally we can talk about it. Yes, we are moving! On Monday we are heading home, to good ole Virginny! Its a dream come true. We always knew we wanted to end up there, but it seemed so far away in reality.

I know some of you are like, "Wow, this happened quick." In our experience, resigning in a ministry is different from the rest of the working world. You resign, its kept a secret for a while, and then bam, you're gone.

You see, we understand how this works, but its hard for those who don't understand. It's like one week you're at church, and the next week you're telling the lady you worked with in the nursery for the past year, "today's my last day, we're moving
tomorrow."
(This is what I have to do Sunday. Ouch!)

Anyway, It's all good. A smooth transition is truly what is needed and things are going very well. It always works out the way it is supposed to.

So all you Florida peeps, we will be back to visit, as Danny's family is here, but you guys come see us too. We seriously have plenty of room for you and would love to show you "the burg!"

Oh, and what's Danny's new job??? All I can say is, "Is there a Dr. in the house???" No, not a M.D., but a Prrooooofessor (said in an intellectual accented voice). Danny has accepted a psychology teaching position at our alma mater Liberty University!

So folks, I'm gonna be M.I.A. for a week or two while we get moved in. In the mean time...any suggestions for a new blog title?

FINALLY!!!! This has been one hard secret to keep! Although, I have to admit I have told a few peeps:) Denise, I know it's a stressful time right now with the move and not being able to tell people you're moving (still a crazy part of ministry that I will never understand), but it will all pay off in a few weeks when you're Lynchburging it! And Liberty kids will love Dr. Logan this coming semester. I had him for Psyc. 101 and he was GREAT!

And you'll be able to come see me more often, too!! We are all winning out with this move:)

Congrats, and I love you and all the Logans!!! And about the new name for the blog. I am at a loss...I'll have to keep thinking. Do you want a Virginia theme?

What about "Carry Me Back To Old Virginny? Guess you couldn't really have that for a long period of time, though. Something will come up.

We're all so happy and excited that you'll be here in just a few days. It's an answer to a selfish prayer, I know, but an answer just the same.

Denise, I am sooo happy for you and your family! It's a lucky girl that gets to live near her family. I think that's in the bible somewhere. Actually my mom thinks it's, Thou shalt live near your mama. But I think that commandment is only for girls. Anyway, I will miss you and the kids. And I guess Danny too. I think Derek will miss him more! We will definately come and visit! I'm looking forward to it. I guess your kids can say bad things like poopy head now and you don't have to worry that they are PK's. I, on the other hand..... Fun times!

I don't have any blog name suggestions for you, but am THRILLED to read this post. I know your hubby will be an outstanding addition to the staff at Liberty and what a blessing to Lynchburg to have you back there.

I will be in prayer for a smooth transition and for the kids as they will be attending a new school this fall.

Did you sell your home in Florida or will you be renting it? Our home never sold in Arizona so we are renting it out...that would not have been my preference, but God knows best!

Blessings to you on the move!

glad you're getting back to your roots!
I haven't been back to Lynchburg since we moved to CA back when I was 14 (yikes!)
As for a blog title, how about "Life back in the 'berg"

too cheezy?

Good luck with packing and all that goes with it!

I am so glad this is finally out!!! We are so excited to have new neighbors. The kids can already imagine their cousins running through the yard!! As for a new blog name..."Logan's Funhouse"...since there is a Logan's steakhouse here in town. I don't know...maybe that would lure too many lurkers!!

I'm FINALLY getting to see this and able to comment and I'm SO EXCITED that it's finally out! Next week at this time you'll be here with us! I love how you spilled the news on your blog and have been waiting to see how you tell everyone. All I'm going say is that we have worked our butts off today getting the outside appearance ready for the Dr. Daniel Kenneth Logan's. See my blog later for any suspicions.

Oh, and Dayna's here and says she has another title option for your new blog...."Logan's on the Run" since you'll be living on the run...get it?

Oh, and I like Julie's suggestion..."Back in the Burg"

Whaahhoo!! The news is out! There is MUCH excitement in the air about this move...but I know the Florida residents are really going to miss the Logan's. Danny, Denise, Maddie, Danny Jr, Harrison Jack, Margaux and Ashley Jane are truly FUN to be around and a blessing to have in your life. They are giving individuals and I can't wait to spoil them a little!! :)

As for that blog title...I will be thinking...but the first thing that pops in my head is the Target theme only reversed: "Good-bye, Hello"! (Not really a title, but a good feeling!)

I love you and will be praying for a SMOOOVVVE transition.

Okay, how about "My Life in Central Virginia?" Or how about "From SW Florida to Central Virginia"

YIPPPPPEEE! Let the good times roll! I am so excited and cant wait till you get here. We will have to get Dan Dan and Adam together alot, I think they would have fun together. I can just picture us meeting at Chick fil A for lunch! :)

Laughing so hard at JD's suggestion of "give me liberty or give me death" HA!

WHAT?!!!! WHAT?!!! WHAT?!!!! I can't believe it. You are finally making it back to VA. I am so happy for you. I know it has been what you have wanted for so long. I do have to say that I am extremely jealous. That has always been my dream to move out East again but I don't ever see it happening. Did you sell your house?

Now about this professor thing.....it is so weird for me b/c me and Danny took our psych and counseling classes together and to think that now HE IS THE PROFESSOR. AMAZING! Needless to say, he has gotten his money's worth out of his degree much more than I. He will be so good. Can't wait to see the updates.

I laughed at Julie's titles, especially, "Give me Liberty or Give me Death". You might try that one. It has a very melodramic flair to it. HA!

Congratulations, Denise! This is wonderful and exciting news! I love the area and know that you'll be so happy to be back closer to your family. Try to stay sane during the move and then...just enjoy! I'm so happy for you.

I think it has to have something with psychology in the name....... or something like ....The Logans at Libery - or Liberty meets the Logans
where the real psychology happens :)

Blessings and dont worry- Nutella will always find you where ever you are at. Love Tammy

So happy for you and your family, Denise!

As for new names for your blog what about: "All Roads Lead Home" or "My Life in Lynchburg" or "The Doctors Wife". Just a few suggestions - I also really like the previous commenters suggestion of "give me Liberty or give me death". Blessings!!
