Our Most Recent Kill

THIS POST IS DEDICATED TO MY MOTHER WHO ALWAYS LOOKS FOR SNAKES WHEN SHE COMES TO SEE US IN FLORIDA, AND TO MY SISTER DONNA WHO WANTED ME TO POST ABOUT THE SNAKE WE KILLED A FEW WEEKS AGO ON OUR FRONT PORCH.
Warning: If you have a weak tummy, don't look at the second picture.
A few hours ago Dan Dan came inside yelling "snake." He and Danny were outside cleaning out the truck and a snake had crossed over the driveway. By the time I had come outside Danny was cutting the head off with a shovel. We researched it on line and we think it is a Juvenile Cottonmouth. Yikes! I am sending Danny to the store tonight to buy moth balls to spread around the yard. They are supposed to repel snakes. As my mom would say, "time will tell."

Okay. If I ever saw that thing within a mile of my house, I would cry. Could that thing kill you?

I don't know if it would kill you....well maybe eventually if you didn't get help. I would hurt you that is for sure and you would need the ER quick.

are you kidding me? Mom, Dayna, Dawn and I are all checking out your latest post and can't believe our eyes. Lynchburg is calling you loud and clear!!!! GOod post! It had us on the edge of our seats AND gagging! With the three snakes you've seen at your recently (by the way...mom is speaking now through me) can you imagine how many are out there in the weeds? (Dolly is speaking again) That's really comforting mom!

You girls are so funny! Believe me, I don't like it one bit. Danny and I have already had a "talk" about it.

Speaking of snakes. Dad and Mitchell were cleaning out an area behind mom and dad's house on Saturday, (in the woods0 and dad reached down to pick up something and accidentally grabbed the tail of a black snack. Dad said he did a backwards dance out of there and the snake slide right up a tree!

Gross. Any snake is disgusting in my book.

I've seen snakes (and even a baby alligator) around the overgrown bush surrounding my house, but nothing like that...yeesh!

The decapitiation picture made me bring my breakfast back up a little bit. :)
